Matt Piscatella of analyst firm Circana (formerly NPD Group) said in a social media post that Astro Bot will rank second on the U.S. software charts for September 2024, with only EA Sports FC 25 topping the list. revealed that.

Rounding out the top 10 are Madden NFL 25, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, EA Sports College Football, Star Wars Outlaws, NBA 2K25, Hogwarts Legacy, NHL 25, and A number of major releases made the list, including God of War: Ragnarok.

As previously reported, Astro Bot has done incredibly well since its launch in early September, outselling any 3D platformer other than Mario games in the past decade. Developer team Asobi has announced that Astro Bot’s weekly speedrun stages will be released every Thursday, with the second stage releasing tomorrow.

Astro Bot’s sales are clearly encouraging for this IP, and Sony will hopefully quickly continue this franchise as one of its leading IPs. Herman Hulst, CEO of SIE’s Studio Business Group, said Astro Bot is “very, very important for PlayStation” so this could lead to another full-fledged effort within the next few years. I hope that means that.
