Microsoft announced Edge Game Assist, a way for players to get tips and guides while playing PC games.
Described as a “seamless, full-featured in-game browser,” Game Assist allows players to launch a bespoke version of the Edge browser as part of the game bar overlay.
The browser recognizes the game. This means that if a player is running a compatible game, the browser will automatically suggest tips and guides for that particular game.
However, it also works with any game as it allows players to manually search for help online.
You can pin the browser to the top of the screen if you wish. This means that players can progress through certain sections with a guide at all times. Players can also pull up YouTube videos and play them on the tab alongside the actual gameplay.
Game Assist shares the same browser data and cookies as the full version of Edge, so players with saved login details won’t need to log in again during a game.
Players can also use Game Assist to summon services like Discord, Spotify, and Twitch while playing.
“Our research shows that 40% of PC players look for tips, guides, and other help while playing,” Microsoft said in an announcement. Game Assist makes this easier than ever by highlighting helpful resources for your game every time you open a new tab. ”
Game Assist allows you to launch the Edge browser while playing any game, but at launch it supports Baldur’s Gate 3, Diablo IV, Fortnite, Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga, League of Legends, Minecraft, Overwatch 2, Blocks, Valorant.
