Rebellion has been revealed to be a treat for PS5 and PS4 users who have cleared their 2024 backlog. Sniper Elite: Resistance is scheduled to be released for both Sony systems on January 30, 2025. A new trailer accompanies the news and you can catch it above. , available for pre-order now.
The new standalone stealth game stars Harry Hawker as the protagonist for the first time as he “discovers an insidious new Wunderwaffe, so powerful it will ensure the Nazis win the war.” The story is set during the events of Sniper Elite 5 and takes place far behind enemy lines in France.
Each mission is structured similarly to its predecessor, requiring you to explore a vast open map and accomplish different objectives, but one of the new features found in Resistance is Propaganda Missions. You must find propaganda posters in each level. This will unlock individual Progadana missions where you play as a Resistance fighter. All of these can be played alone or in co-op, and the series’ trademark X-ray killcam also returns.
Rebellion today also detailed the Sniper Elite: Resistance Season Pass, which will be bundled with the Deluxe Edition. This will give you access to three additional missions, weapon packs, and gun skins in three post-launch drops. Given Rebellion’s strong post-release support for Sniper Elite 5, the developer has created a second season pass, but it’s possible the studio has more planned.
