Sophie Falkiner marries: ‘Wheel of Fortune’ star Stephen Wood in Sydney ceremony

Sophie Falkiner and her partner Stephen Wood tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Sydney.

The 51-year-old TV presenter looked stunning in a white strapless Stephen Khalil dress with a corset and beading on the thighs.

The Wheel of Fortune star’s hair was in Hollywood waves and the look was completed with red lipstick.

The bride then changed into a white mini dress with a lace hem for the reception.

The groom complimented her in a classic tuxedo with a white rose pinned to the lapel.

Stars who got married this year

The ceremony took place at Restaurant Pasadena on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, and the venue was decorated with flowers and greenery by Jimquette Events.

The couple said “I do” in an outdoor ceremony on the Church Point waterfront with a floral arch behind them.

The tables were decorated with pink and white flowers, matching the pink velvet chairs and white drapes on the ceiling.

Friends sent congratulations to the bride and groom on social media.

Entrepreneur Jose Bryce Smith wrote: “Congratulations to @sophie_falkiner and Steve on the most beautiful and happy wedding, a gorgeous couple and family.”

“The most beautiful wedding ever. The love, the warmth, the beauty, the talent, the company, the location…and my favorite part are the speeches! Captivating, elegant, heartfelt and just like our… @sophie_falkiner Congratulations Sophie and Stephen!” And the happiness only doubles! ” wrote digital creator Alina Rose.

The bride and groom got engaged two years ago after Wood popped the question while on holiday in Queensland’s idyllic Whitsunday Islands.

The two originally met at a restaurant when the TV host went out to dinner with his girlfriend, she told 9honey.

The two met after Falkiner divorced radio executive Tony Thomas after 14 years of marriage. The former couple have two children together, Bella, 17, and Jack, 14.

“I needed time to heal. I didn’t completely cut out dating, I just didn’t look for it,” she said.

“I was with someone for 17 years, but I hadn’t looked at a man that way for a long time.”

Falkiner described her new relationship as “easy,” explaining, “I think when you meet the right person, it’s easy. There’s a camaraderie, a friendship.”

The TV star is best known for her role as a letter turner on Wheel of Fortune and has also appeared in The Great Outdoors, Sydney Weekender and Luxury Escapes.
