It’s been almost a year since the first trailer for GTA 6 was released, and that 90 seconds of footage alone generated enough hype for Rockstar’s open-world title to win the fan-voted Most Wanted Game award at the Golden Joystick Awards 2024. That was enough to solidify the hype. During his acceptance speech, there was just a small preview of bigger things to come.
While accepting the award on stage, a representative for Rockstar, who did not introduce himself, said, “Thank you very much for receiving this wonderful award.” “We also want to say a huge thank you to all our fans. They are the most important thing to us. At Rockstar, they mean a lot to us. Great things to do in Grand Theft Auto 6 There are an incredible number of people who are doing that. It’s just amazing.” So it’s really an honor to be here and accept this award on behalf of everyone. However, I would be happy if more people could come here, and I look forward to your continued support. ”
It’s certainly vague, but we’re all clutching at straws as to when the next GTA 6 game will be. The first trailer was released on December 4, 2023, and 353 days later, we are all still waiting for more trailers. It’s not just the fans. GTA 5 remains the best-selling traditional AAA game of all time, and the launch of GTA 6 will be an event that the entire industry will be watching. Analysts have said over the last year that the game’s importance to the console market “cannot be overstated” as Sony and Microsoft try to encourage older generation players to upgrade to newer machines.
Do those “utterly amazing things” justify the 11-year wait fans have endured since GTA 5? Only time will tell, but I hope that “further results in the future” will be realized soon.
