“Stolen” Trailer: Austin Butler & Zoe Kravitz Rides Darren Aronofsky’s Wild Crime

The trailer has arrived to catch the stolen, and it appears that Black Swan and Whale filmmaker Darren Aronofsky is trading the opera’s horror for black comedy and pulp violence. Austin Butler, Zoe Kravitz and Matt Smith are in this cast. Look up.

Based on Charlie Houston’s 2004 crime novel of the same name, Butler plays Hank Thompson in the film. What starts with his neighbor (Smith) asks him to ask the cat to turn into a full-fledged survival sprint through the criminal underworld. No problem: the mysterious Duffel bag, the con man, cop, and the strange cast played by Kravitz as Hank’s girlfriend, Regina King, Vincent Donofrio, Liev Schreiber, and Bad Bunny.

The trailer is an explosion of grit and style, while Butler is in a wounded deadpan mode, forced to scramble, punch and improvise from the chaos he has never seen before seeing him come.

Aronofsky, who debuted his film with Cinemacon earlier this year, called the film “something different” and described it as “a true love letter to the world’s greatest city.” His hometown is New York. “I wanted to do something that was so much fun,” the film director said. It certainly shows Aronofsky’s changing pace. The credits primarily consist of more downbeat, tragic, experimental projects.

Huston wrote the script and adapted his own novel. The film was reunited with Matthew Libertique, Black Swan and the Star, and was a cinematographer lensed by Aronofsky’s first feature film, PI and editor Andrew Weissbram (Black Swan, mother, French dispatch).

Theft began in Australian cinemas on August 28th and in the US on August 29th.
