Screen Australia welcomes Darren Dale to board – Screen News – Screen Australia

Screen Australia is pleased to welcome award-winning producer Darren Dale to the board, who brings a wealth of experience and industry knowledge.

Darren Dale


As Managing Director of Indigenous-owned production company Blackfella Films, Dale has produced a range of impactful and award-winning projects that have resonated with audiences in Australia and internationally. Some of his notable works include ‘First Australians’, ‘Total Control’, ‘Redfern Now’, ‘Australians’, ‘A Dark Emu Story’ and ‘Australian Wars’.


Dale’s extensive involvement in the film industry extends beyond his role in Blackfella Films. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Chairman of the Board of the Sydney Film Festival, and serves on the boards of the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) and the Sydney Film Festival. He previously served on the boards of Screen NSW, the Australian Council of Film, Television and Radio Schools (AFTRS), the Australian Center for Film (ACMI) and the Australian Film Institute (AFI). In 2012, he received the prestigious AFTRS Honorary Degree.


Screen Australia is excited to welcome Darren Dale to our Board of Directors and believe his expertise and vision will be invaluable in furthering our mission to support and promote Australian screen content. I’m sure.


Darren Dale will be appointed for a three-year term starting August 18, 2024.


Screen Australia’s nine board members are Michael Ebeid AM (chair), Megan Brownlow (deputy chair), Dr Tania Chambers OAM, Darren Dale, Marta Dusseldorp, Sasha Holler and Deborah The nine members are Mailman AM, Nicholas Pickard and Pallavi Sharda.
