Whether you’re into creepy clowns, paranormal stories, or classic thrillers, this list has you covered. Grab some popcorn, dim the lights, and get ready for a great night of Irish favorites.

Halloween is just around the corner and Virgin Media Ireland has released the definitive list of Ireland’s most loved horror films.

New research compiles the top 50 highest-grossing horror films, analyzes monthly search volume for October since 2020, and identifies which movies Irish audiences are watching to get in the Halloween spirit did. The result is a spine-chilling lineup of the nation’s favorite Halloween movies.

Here are the top 10 most searched horror movies in Ireland:

1. “IT” (2017) –

2. “The Conjuring” (2013)

3. “Five Nights at Freddy’s” (2023)

4. “The Exorcist” (1973)

5. “Alien” (1979)

6. “Sleepy Hollow” (1999)

7. “Nun” (2018)

8. “Annabelle” (2014)

9. “Get Out” (2017)

10. “Split” (2017)

‘IT’ has topped the list with a chilling 73,200 searches every October since 2020, proving that Pennywise’s creepy grin continues to haunt Ireland’s nightmares. Whether it’s the scary moments or the ’80s setting, it remains Ireland’s favorite Halloween horror movie.

Close behind was “The Conjuring,” with 63,900 searches. This supernatural thriller is a favorite among Irish horror fans who love spooky ghost stories and real-life paranormal phenomena.

In third place was “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” which was searched 63,300 times. The film is based on a video game series featuring terrifying creatures and quickly became a must-see for horror lovers across Ireland.

In fourth place was the classic “The Exorcist” with 46,500 searches. Years later, the creepy story continues to give viewers chills. Finally, in fifth place was “Alien” with 41,800 searches. This legendary sci-fi horror film still has the power to scare and excite audiences.
