Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson supports the new gang drama, Moses the Black, marking his latest films under his G-unit film and TV banner. This feature is set to Star Omar Epps (Powerbook III: Raising Canaan), Chukwudi Iuji (Jackal Day, Galaxy Vol. 3), rap stars Wiz Khalifa (Dickinson, Mac & Devin go to high school) and Quavo (Savage Salvation).

Set in today’s Chicago, Moses is centered around Malik, the leader of the gang, played by Epps. The story is inspired by the real story of St. Moses the Black, a fifth-century figure in which a violent past gave way to repentance. Khalifa plays 2WO-3ree, the unpredictable leader of Malik’s young crew. Quavo is riding on Malik’s rival Straw, while Iwuji portrays Saint Moses himself.

The film is written and directed by Ilena Popovich, who previously coached the 2021 film The Man of God and produced by Popovich and Alexander Potter through the company Simeon Faith.

The deadline broke the news, reporting that major photos from the film are expected to begin in Chicago later this spring.

“I’m excited to be part of Moses’ black as an executive producer. Working with great talent will ensure that you bring a genuine, engaging story to the screen. Yelena’s vision for this film will certainly create a hit,” Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson said in a statement. The rapper-turned producer also took him to social media and he posted, “My new film (Moses the Black) will come out of here.” “Stop playing with me, I’m not playing. (sic)”

“Yelena Popovic is a very impactful storyteller and we look forward to bringing Moses to life with this incredibly talented group of artists.”

Khalifa added: As the actor and executive producer of the project, I have started filming and can’t wait for all the fans to watch the film! ”

Epps and Khalifa are executive produced under their respective banners, Brooklyn Works Films and Taylor Gang Films. The funding is being handled by the Nick Mirkopoulos Cinematic Fund, backed by the Pissios family of Simeon Faith and Chicago and the Mirkopoulos family of Toronto. Both families also participate as executive producers.

The film marks the first production of Simeon Faith, adding yet another title to Jackson’s ever-expanding slate, including BMF and Power Universe. Jackson recently produced the theatrically released sequel Den of Thieves 2: Pantera.

It has not been announced yet.
