Australians in Film (AIF) provided Australian actors who do not give US reps the opportunity to be seen by top talent managers one outstanding opportunity to win a meeting with Blumhouse Casting Head Terri Taylor.
Rising | Actor editions are supported by the Golden Globe Foundation and are submitted for submissions by US companies such as Stride Management, More Medavoy, Echo Lake Entertainment, and Artists First Management.
Each applicant will be invited to participate in a masterclass with Taylor in collaboration with filmmakers such as Steven Spielberg, Jordan Peel, Damien Chazelle, and John M. Chew.
At the end of Taylor’s masterclass, one actor will be named Rise’s winner, receiving a 30-on-one general meeting with Taylor and feature profiles on AIF’s social media and website.
“To rise is a groundbreaking global career opportunity for Australian actors, opening the door to one of the most competitive industries in the world,” said Peter Richie, executive director of AIF.
“This platform provides an important international route for undiscovered Australian talent.”
Only 100 submissions are accepted on the first, best attire basis. Applicants must submit a 2-minute maximum acting reel, headshot and credit. There may be Australian representatives, but they should not have US representatives and could not regularly lead or series in US production.
Applications are available at 4:04pm on September 25th, US time/10am on September 26th, or when 100 submissions have been reached. Applications are free for AIF Network members, $95 for AIF Access members and $150 for non-members.
The masterclass will be held at Zoom October 22nd, 4pm PDT/October 23rd, AEDT at 10am.
