Screen Australia is excited to announce Louise Gough as our new Director of Narrative Content. Louise was head of development at Screen Australia from 2021 to 2023, and will return to the agency to lead the narrative content unit.

With a distinguished 30-year career spanning broadcasting, production, funding bodies and theater environments, Louise brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Her dedication to nurturing talent and guiding stories from development to market and audience is well known in the industry. Louise most recently served as executive producer on Samantha Strauss’ Picking Scabs, a joint venture with See-Saw Films.

Screen Australia Chief Executive Officer Deirdre Brennan said: “Louise’s wealth of experience and passion for Australian storytelling in all its forms makes her an invaluable addition to our team. Her leadership truly reflects and connects us all. It will help drive Screen Australia’s commitment to growing content.”

Louise Goff commented on taking on her new role: I am dedicated to Australian stories across all platforms, working with creators, producers, marketplace partners, sector leaders and organizations, as well as agency colleagues and Screen Australia staff to bring Australian stories to national and international audiences. I can’t wait to grow the narrative content. ”

Louise will report to Chief Operating Officer Grainne Brunsdon and continue her impactful work in supporting and promoting Australian content. Louise is scheduled to open on Screen Australia on September 30, 2024.
