Netflix has revealed the release date for its new 2024 anime movie Haikyu!!: The Dumpster Battle, and it’s coming much sooner than you think.
The streamer announced the news on Twitter: “Karasuno and Nekoma will face off at the All Japan Championship, finally ending the long-standing feud between Hinata and Kenma.” They also confirmed the release date to be October 31st. See full text below.

Alongside the release date, Netflix posted a trailer that gives anime fans a glimpse of the upcoming volleyball battle between the rival teams, and more importantly between the central characters, Hinata and Kenma. The clip you can watch above also includes the film’s official theme song by Japanese rock band Spyair.
The film depicts a teenager, Shoyo Hinata, who joins Karasuno High School’s volleyball club in pursuit of his sports dreams. The only problem is, to do so, he’ll have to team up with his old rival. The Dumpster Battle is the first movie in a two-part series that serves as the finale for the entire animated series. The next film is expected to be released sometime in 2025.
Director Susumu Mitsunaka’s film adaptation of the popular anime “Haikyu!!” based on Haruichi Furudate’s manga of the same name. In case fans of the manga were wondering, the movie The Dumpster Battle appears to have adapted chapters 291 through 325 to some extent. It seems that the movie will also depict the setting of “Haikyu!!”. Season 4 ends.
Haikyu!! Trash Battle will be released on Netflix in some parts of Asia this Halloween, but fans in Japan were able to see the film earlier this year when it was released in theaters on February 16th. However, no official international release date has been announced at this time. As time passes, I hope it will also be distributed on Netflix US and UK.
