The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the Kingdom’s Tears had one of the most controversial design choices: weapon degradation, which appears to be somewhat mitigated in the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
These newer versions of the game are compatible with the Zelda Notes app on mobile, allowing you to roll daily bonuses for repairing equipment, in addition to meals and health boosts and more.
This is not set to change the entire game as it can only be obtained once a day, but it feels like a rather big change to the core design principles of both games.
In addition to the Zelda Notes app, both games have improved resolution and frame rates, as well as HDR support. You can play the game and read the full preview here.
Upgrade for Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Breath of the Wild and to the Kingdom upgrades are priced at around 15-17 AUD or included in the Nintendo Switch Online + expansion pack for subscribers.
