Another Pokemon Day means another Pokemon present. In addition to the release of Pokemon Champions, we also saw a lot of the upcoming Pokemon legend, ZA. As the previous trailer suggested, it appears to be experiencing a fundamental change in the Lumious city of X and Y. The game features Chicolita, Tepig and Totodile as starter Pokemon.
Like Pokémon Legends Arceus, the game appears to focus on fighting and exploring open worlds. You can see trainers jumping from roof to roof throughout Lumioth City. Perhaps most exciting is the return of Mega Evolution, the favorite mechanic of the 6th generation of Pokemon games.
Despite its futuristic environment, Lumiose City is filled with wild zones. It’s where Pokemon can roam freely and fight and capture you in your health. There is also a new battle system where the key to success is to place and guide Pokemon in battle to avoid attacks. It seems like a considerable change, and it appears to incorporate some real-time elements into turn-based combat.
The game is scheduled to be released on the Nintendo Switch in late 2025 and will definitely come to the Nintendo Switch 2 as well. Pokémon Legends: Stay tuned for more news about Za.
