Showtime’s Yellowjackets will end with the upcoming season 4, and the story will end as planned. The writers’ room is open, production is scheduled for 2026, and the final episode is expected to premiere on Showtime on Paramount+ later that year.

Series co-creators and executive producers Ashley Lyle and Burt Nickerson confirmed the decision on social media. “After three great seasons and much thought, we are pleased to announce that this fourth and final season will bring the Yellowjackets’ story to a twisty conclusion,” they wrote. “We always knew there would come a time when the story would end. We believe our job, our responsibility, is to listen.”

Samantha Hanratty, who plays teenage Misty, shared an emotional TikTok shortly after the news broke. “As you can see, we just received this news, and it looks like you did too,” she began. “This is going to be the final season of ‘Yellowjackets,’ and I just don’t know how to take it. Obviously, I’m very emotional, and I know all good things must come to an end. I’m really, really grateful to be a part of this show.”
“I’m a little sad that it’s all over, but I want to tell everyone how much I appreciate this show, the opportunity, and our amazing fan base. And I promise to make this final season incredible, and I’m really looking forward to getting started on it.”

The show and its progression
Debuting in 2021, “Yellowjackets” is equal parts survival thriller, psychological horror, and coming-of-age drama, weaving together the ordeal of a 1990s plane crash with its adult consequences decades later. The series has been nominated for multiple Emmy Awards and has a passionate fan base. Paramount hailed the Season 3 finale in April as the most streamed episode in the show’s history.
