First look images (above and below) of Prime Video’s upcoming action comedy, The Wrecking Crew, starring Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista on the streets of Hawaii, have been released.
Momoa and Bautista finally team up (it’s finally time)
Sure, they’ve crossed paths before, but not like this. Momoa and Bautista were adversaries in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune movie and also faced each other in the Apple TV+ series See. This time around, estranged half-brothers Johnny (Momoa) and James (Bautista) are forced to reunite after their father’s mysterious death.
As they begin to pull the strings, buried secrets resurface, loyalties are tested, and the pair confront a conspiracy that threatens to tear their family apart. In other words, expect punches, friction, and mayhem.
We’re hoping it’s an energetic, funny, and well-crafted movie, and we’re hoping that Momoa and Bautista’s on-screen charms are put to good use.
cast and creators
In addition to Momoa and Bautista, the cast includes Claes Bang, Temuera Morrison, Jacob Batalon, Frankie Adams, Miyabi, Stephen Root, and Morena Baccarin.
The film will be directed by Angel Manuel Soto, who also directed DC’s Blue Beetle and the 2020 drama Charm City Kings. The script was written by Jonathan Tropper, who worked with Momoa on See as executive producer and showrunner. Tropper’s screenwriting credits also include the sci-fi adventure “The Adam Project” and the Apple TV+ series “Your Friends and Neighbors.” Momoa and Bautista also serve as producers here, along with Jeff Fierson, Matt Reeves, and Lynn Harris.
The Wrecking Crew will be available to stream worldwide on Prime Video on January 28, 2026. Stay tuned for the trailer!
