WIFT Australia has selected Kautal Abdulalim, Corey Chen, Miranda Edmonds and Liliana Muñoz as the first members of the Content London Catalyst program, who will receive free travel, tailored coaching and market preparation for this year’s event.
The initiative, developed by WIFT Australia with federal support through Screen Australia, Minderoo Pictures and Austrade’s Export Market Development Grant (EMDG) program, will support women and gender diverse producers to accelerate their international dealmaking capabilities and market reach at Content London 2025.
Of the quartet, Abdulalim is known for producing the Screen Australia and VicScreen-funded series #MATCHED and Salma’s Season through his company Blacksand Pictures, while contributing to major factual works for the ABC and SBS. Miranda Edmonds is the founder of Cottesloe Films and co-director and producer of the Western Australian feature film Jack the Whale Shark, scheduled to premiere on Stan in 2026. Cory Chen is a Taiwanese-Australian writer, director, and executive producer, known for The New Gold Mountain, Good Cop/Bad Cop, Bad Behavior, and The Artful Dodger. Liliana Muñoz is the producer and founder of Maximo Studios, the company that produced ABC’s All My Friends Are Racist.
They will receive travel, accommodation and representation passes, as well as mentorship from former Inside Pictures director of content Julia Short, All3Media International’s senior vice president of content and commercial strategy David Sweatma and Screen Australia’s head of markets and audiences Raquel Tansley.
Screen Australia COO Grainne Brunsdon said the selected participants showcased the wide range of talent that underpins Australian storytelling.
“A key industry event on the global calendar, Content London provides a rare opportunity to forge important connections with the global film and television industry, helping to leverage international partnerships and new collaborations across a dynamic environment,” she said.
Minderoo Pictures Executive Director Malinda Wink said the organization was proud to continue supporting WIFT Australia following the WIFT CinefestOz Writers Retreat held earlier this year.
“The Content London Catalyst Program is a fantastic initiative that creates important pathways for talented women and non-binary film producers to build international collaboration and advance their careers,” she said.
WIFT Australia Chair Leanne Tonks, who will also be accompanying the delegation, said the initiative reflected WIFT’s aim to strengthen Australia’s cultural and economic footprint and enable lifelong partnerships.
“We are excited to offer this opportunity to Miranda, Kauser, Liliana and Cory and look forward to seeing what develops from there.”
The delegation will travel from Saturday 29th November to 6th December, attend Content London from 1st to 4th December, with an additional London-based company-wide meeting scheduled for 5th December.
