Australia’s beloved stars return home for Apple Cider Vinegar, an epic limited series that explores twisted lies and the role social media plays.
The series follows two young women, Belle and Mila, who are determined to cure life-threatening illnesses through health and wellness. In the new age of social media, girls are sharing their journeys on Instagram and influencing a global community in the process.

But how true is this? No, it’s all a scam.
Belle Gibson lied to the whole world when she claimed a special diet “cured” her cancer. When the truth came out, the wellness influence ultimately turned into a social pariah.
The cast of Apple Cider Vinegar includes Alicia Debnam-Carey (The Lost Flower of Alice’s Heart and Fear the Walking Dead); Ayshe Dee (The Bold Type); Kaitlyn Deaver (Dope Sick); TV WEEK Goldology Nominee Mark Coles-Smith (Mystery Road: Origins). Ashley Zukerman (The Succession); and Tilda Cobham-Harvey (The Lost Flower of Alice Heart).
The limited series will be directed by Jeffrey Walker, known for his work on Teresa Palmer’s The Clearing, Disney+’s The Artful Dodger, and Modern Family.
Mark has been nominated for the 2023 TV WEEK Gold Logie.

The series is from award-winning writer Samantha Strauss (Nine Perfect Strangers and Dance Academy) and co-writers Anya Beiersdorf (The Twelve) and Angela Betsy. Produced and written by Ann (Total Control).
“Samantha Strauss has created a series that is intense in its commentary but fundamentally funny. It’s complex, it’s bouncy, it’s chewy, and we love it,” said executive producer Liz. Watts and Louise Goff said.
“We have a fantastic creative team with one of the best cast ensembles in an Australian production, under the able leadership of director Geoffrey Walker. This is a Melbourne story with a global reach.”

Que Minh Luu, Director of Netflix Content ANZ, added:
“We’re bringing home-grown global success stories back here to create Australian programming that delivers the unexpected thrills that Australian viewers crave on Netflix. See-Saw With Films/Picking Scabs, extraordinary creator Sam Strauss, and an amazingly talented cast, we can’t wait for this great drama series to entertain audiences everywhere.”
