Season 3 was confirmed before the end of Season 2
Good news for fans on Wednesday! Even before Season 2 was rapping, Netflix officially ordered the third season of the Jenna Ortega-led series. This is a clear vote of confidence in what will become one of the platform’s biggest performers.
“Our goal for Season 3 is the same as each season. To make it the best season possible, so that it’s the best season possible,” co-creator Alfred Goff told Netflix’s Tudum. “We want to continue digging deeper into the characters while expanding our Nevermore and Wednesday world.”
Co-creator Miles Miller said, “Learn more Adams’ family and more family secrets in Season 3!”
Where Season 3 stands and where filming can be completed
Development is underway. As Gough explained to Collider, “We’re actually in the writer’s room for Season 3,” work paused temporarily to launch Season 2. The plan is to stick to eight episodes.
Tim Burton’s director slate has yet to be decided. Goff’s line on that was dull. Miller said: “It’s always great to have Tim here. He did four episodes in his first season, and four of this season were amazing. So it depends on his schedule.”

When you can expect a third season of screens, it’s best to have patience. Miller told Coridar that the episode is closer to film scale. “These are more than just episodes. They’re really film-scale productions. There are over 3,500 visual effects shots this season.”
At the timing, he set up a realistic guardrail. When about two years of cadence came to mind (assuming the camera rolls later this year), Gough’s take was concise. “Yeah, that’s ideal.”
Where is things now?
Currently for half of season 2. All four episodes of Wednesday’s season 2 will be streamed on Netflix starting September 3rd.
