Have you ever wanted to be a Marine and worship a mechanical god while hacking apart alien monsters to protect humanity? Warhammer 40000: Space Marines II is the game for you. . Warhammer 40000: Space Marines II is a third-person shooter where you mow down hordes of alien monsters while defending various objectives. You have a variety of guns and blades at your disposal to defeat the Tyranids. Tyranids will always try to tear you limb from limb in the most horrific things imaginable. Simply put, this is not a game for children and contains a lot of gore.

You play as Captain Titus, a lieutenant in the Space Marines. He is a returning character from the first game and fights in the war between humanity and the Tyranids. As you play missions, you will be accompanied by Chiron and Gadriel, space marines determined to defeat the alien threat. You can also play online with two other players in each mission and work together to complete each objective and defeat the alien hordes. I was surprised at how much fun I had playing this game. One thing you realize is that no one is really good. While you play as the protagonist, there is not a single person in the game who is innocent and has done something horrible. Even the machine cult you’re a part of commits inhumane acts against even its most loyal members in the name of winning the war. I understand that war is never pretty, but when I look at the treatment Marines receive and how they are treated after death, I wonder if even if we win the war, is it worth it?The end justifies the means. I ask myself, “Do I do that?” I don’t usually play these types of games, but after playing this one I will definitely look into more games in this genre.

Before starting the mission, you will be given the opportunity to change your equipment. You can also choose the type of gun you bring into the mission, as well as the type of melee weapon from chainsaw swords to warhammers. One problem is that there isn’t much to do in the hub area other than prepare for the next mission. Once you’re equipped, board your dropship and continue your mission towards the planet side.

Combat is very satisfying during gameplay and requires you to be aware of your surroundings. When an enemy launches an attack, you can parry or dodge depending on the type of attack. Some attacks can only be dodged, so always be careful. When fighting Tyranids, you can use melee weapons or the various guns at your disposal. If you’re lucky, you can also find different types of grenades that will help you decimate your enemies. Each grenade has a different effect. However, they are sparse, cannot be equipped before the start of a mission, and do not carry over to the next level. These should only be found in certain parts of the mission, so use them sparingly. Ammunition, on the other hand, can be found whenever you need it. Even if you are swarmed by Tyranids, you can still find ammo in the area. If for some reason you need to change the weapon you have, you can find one lying around the area and use it.

Your health is split into armor and normal health, and when you get attacked you lose armor, and when you run out of armor you start losing your main health. Armor regenerates over time when you are not under attack, but your main health only regenerates when you are attacking enemies. When it comes to health when recovery items are available, you may miss them if you don’t know where they are. You can only hold up to two healing items at a time, so it’s a good idea to save them for when you need them or if you already have two and find another healing item. If you explore the area before proceeding with a mission, you may find a Guardian Relic, which is the game’s equivalent of an Extra Life. What I’ve noticed is that the missions are usually the same. You have to land on a planet, fight Tyranids, and hold out until something happens. Then you have to protect something or stay in a certain area for a certain amount of time. There’s not a lot of variety in the missions, but it’s still a fun experience. Tyranids will swarm your objectives rather than fight you, so it’s a good idea to save your grenades for objective-defending missions.

In conclusion, this was a very interesting experience. If you’re interested in shredding hordes of aliens, or even if you’re feeling down after a long day and want to blow off steam, we recommend this game. Warhammer 40000: Space Marines II is a solid game that is a fun and challenging experience even on the easiest difficulty. Believe me, this game gets difficult especially when defending the target. There will be a lot of blood, so be careful not to get uncomfortable.

Score: 8 out of 10
