Valve has announced that it will be releasing new hardware in 2026. This is now known to be the Steam Machine. This new PC/console hybrid essentially operates like a PC in terms of full compatibility and versatility, but is used more like a traditional console.
However, that’s not all. Valve also announced a new VR headset known as the Steam Frame and a new Steam Controller. All of these are expected to ship in early 2026.

Steam Machine functions like a PC in the sense that it has access to multiple stores and applications and can run different operating systems. That being said, we can only imagine that SteamOS will be the standard operating system here.
We know that the Steam Machine will be powered by an AMD Zen 4 6C/12T (up to 4.8 GHz, 30 W TDP), a semi-custom AMD RDNA3 28CU (up to 2.45 GHz sustained clock, 110 W TDP), and 16 GB of DDR5 RAM and 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM. Two storage models are available: a 512GB model and a 2TB model. Both also include the option for additional storage with a high-speed microSD card. Supports ray tracing and 4K 120 FPS gaming via HDMI, 4K 240 FPS or 8K 60 FPS gaming via DisplayPort.
Valve says that Steam Machine is “approximately six times more powerful than Steam Deck,” and the Steam Marketplace will include information indicating what runs on or is optimized for Steam Machine. Australia is listed as one of the countries where all three products can be shipped, and additional information can be found on Steam Machine’s official page.

We don’t know much about the Steam Frame, but we do know that it will be powered by a Snapdragon 8-series processor with 16GB of RAM and will operate as a standalone unit with certain local and streaming features.
It also runs SteamOS and allows users to track compatible Steam Frame titles in both VR and non-VR. For additional information, please visit the official Steam Frame page.

The Steam Controller features a touchpad on the bottom of the controller similar to the one found on the Steam Deck, as well as other premium features such as HD Rumble and magnetic thumbsticks.
There’s also a new feature called Grip Sense, which effectively gives users gyroscopic control in addition to capacitive touch thanks to two slim vertical pads on each grip on the back of the controller.
The Steam Controller is fully customizable when used with Steam Input. It also works with anything running Steam, including Steam decks, Steam machines, Steam frames, and more. For additional information, please visit the official Steam Controller page.
As of this writing, official release dates and prices for these products have not been disclosed. Please wait for further updates as they become available.
