Peaky Blinders will be roving in two new series after the upcoming feature film, with Syrian Murphy continuing as a star and as executive producer. The story moves to Birmingham in 1953, where a bomb-covered city is rebuilt with concrete and steel, and Shelby spies on opportunity amid a rapid upheaval.

A new era of familiar streets

The premise focuses on the fight to control post-war reconstruction. This places the Shelby family in the “bloody heart” of “the city of unprecedented opportunity and danger,” as Logline puts it as a “brutal contest of mythical dimension.”

Creator Stephen Knight said in a statement: “We are excited to announce this new chapter in the Peaky Blinds story, once again rooted in Birmingham and tell the story of the city rising from the ashes of the Birmingham Blitz.

BBC and Netflix back the next chapter

“This game-changing show had a huge impact when it first came to screen 12 years ago. It’s one of the BBC’s most beloved dramas.” “Stephen has cast a spell again. I can’t wait for his script to come back to life when filming begins in Birmingham. I’m pleased to work with the admiration, Garrison drama and Netflix for this epic show.

Mona Qureshi of Netflix adds: “I couldn’t be excited to embark on a new chapter in Peaky Blinders with Kudos, Garrison Drama, and the amazing partners of the BBC. Few modern storytellers will be tailored to Stephen Knight. anew!”

Who’s making it?

The two new series are produced by BBC IPlayer/BBC One in the UK and Gudos and Garrison Drama of Netflix. Executive producers are praised Stephen Knight, Chilean Murphy, Karen Wilson and Martin Haines. Jamie Glazebrook from Garrison drama. Joe McClellan and Daniel Scott Horton of the BBC. Mona Qureshi and Toby Bentley on Netflix.

“We’re looking forward to seeing you in the future,” said Patrick Holland, CEO of Banijay UK. The grip peach fan is old and new. ”

West Midlands mayor Richard Parker said: “Peaky blinds are a global phenomenon that has boosted tourism and global reach. We work with our team to return to the Shelbeam home home, and locals will become part of this story.

How does that follow the film?

These series arrive after the featured Peaky Blind: The Immortal Man. Set during World War II, the film discovers that Thomas Shelby returns to Birmingham, where it was bombed, and is carrying out a secret wartime mission. Murphy leads the cast, including Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Ross, Stephen Graham, Sophie Randle and Barry Kagan, and directs Tom Harper (who directed three episodes of Peaky Blind) and the script for Knight.

The release date for the film, which closes the film in the second half of 2024, has not been announced. The new show was picked up in 1953 about a decade later, bridging the franchise into the postwar power play of the city, rebuilt from wartime dangers, leading a new generation of Shelby.
