Netflix has released the official trailer for Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft Season 2, giving fans the best look yet at Hayley Atwell’s return as the iconic adventurer. Lara and Sam reunite for a high-stakes final mission
Season 2 of the animated series follows Lara Croft as she follows the theft of a series of African Orisha masks. These masks are relics tied to legend, buried history, and powers far beyond myth. The investigation takes her across the continent and teams up with her estranged best friend, Sam Nishimura (voiced by Karen Fukuhara), whose return becomes the major emotional thread of this final chapter. Lara and Sam are drawn deeper into the Orisha lore and the mask’s dark secrets as clues point to the power of the gods and the dangers that could reshape the world.
The voice cast continues with OT Fagbenle as Eshu, Allen Maldonado as Jip, and Earl Bailon as Jonah Maiava.
Set in the continuation of Crystal Dynamics’ 2013 video game reboot, the animated series has served as a bridge between the end of that trilogy and the future of the series. This is the second and final season, and the show serves as a fitting epilogue to a story that began over a decade ago, capping off an era that redefined Lara Croft for a new generation.
For longtime players, Season 2 will focus on Lara and Sam, bringing the story full circle, especially considering Sam’s central role in the 2013 game and her absence from subsequent entries.

The Legend of Lara Croft is written and executive produced by Tasha Fo, with Story Kitchen’s Dmitri M. Johnson and Mike Goldberg, Tractor Pants’ Jacob Robinson, Crystal Dynamics’ Dallas Dickinson and Noah Hughes, and Jen Chambers also executive producing. Powerhouse Animation will return as the animation studio, with Brad Graeber also serving as executive producer.
