It’s a slow trickle with Nintendo Switch 2 products being released in Australian stores, and JB Hi-Fi currently lists both the majority of games and third-party games, and as expected, most of the third-party games are game key cards.
This is probably not a big deal for most people, but this is basically a card used on multiple systems to be sold or traded, but the game still needs to be downloaded, so if the internet is slow or the servers are all turned off (in the future).
Interestingly, Cyberpunk 2077 with a full expansion is a complete game of game cards, and split fiction still uses the code in the box, so you can’t trade or sell it, indicating that this is the way publishers use it.
