After his Until Dawn tour was canceled last year, The Weeknd has finally set new dates for his Australian tour.
Even if you don’t live in Sydney or Melbourne, you’ll feel like you’re on a short trip.
Two shows are scheduled in each of Australia’s two largest cities, with The Weeknd leaving a large gap between the first two shows in Melbourne and the last two shows in Sydney.
Whether this means more shows will be announced remains to be seen, but given the high demand, it wouldn’t be surprising if ticket sales put pressure on promoters to add new dates.
One of the music industry’s most bankable stars will play his first stadium gig in Australia following his debut Down Under in 2017.
The Weeknd said in a statement: “I really want to perform in Australia before moving on to my next chapter. I want you all to know that I haven’t forgotten about you.”
“If I return now, it’s the right time and I promise it will be a very special experience. I can’t wait to see you all.”
Tickets for the following dates will go on sale from Wednesday, August 21st. This only applies to those who previously purchased tickets for the last lot date. Pre-sale will take place again on Thursday, August 22nd, followed by general sale on Monday, August 26th.
