It has been revealed that Borderlands 4 will no longer be released on September 23rd, and there will be a release date of September 12th.
The team posted the news on social media, and Randy Pitchford also rang it. This is due to the game’s successful production and playtesting.
“After careful consideration, there is a monumental decision to raise the release date for Borderlands 4, along with a lot of meetings, playtesting and incredible development work.”
People began speculating that both games from the same head companies were coming and that the game was moving forward to make space for Grand Theft Auto 6, but Pitchford went to X to make sure this was not the case.
“Our decision is literally 0% on the actual or theoretical release date of other products,” Pitchford said.
Early shipping of Borderlands 4 is 100% confidence results in game and development trajectory backed by actual tasks and bug search/fix rates. Our decision is literally 0% on the actual or theoretical release date of other products.
