Disney Rocana’s next set, Jafar’s reign, is only a few weeks away, so we bring plenty of new cards, characters and fun! As of May 30th, pre-release events occurred, and the official retail release occurred on June 6th, this next set release will win the crown. I drew a whole new playmat, deck box and sleeves as well as a new Illuminer Trove and Illuminer quest.
For those new to the game, Disney Locana is a trading card game made possible by Disney and Ravensburger. The game features beloved franchises and characters that players can play, challenge their opponents, and use to win the game in search of lore. Those familiar with magic are also slightly addictive, as Gathering and Pokemon find comfort similar to the mechanics of the game and how to play/collect, and are warmly welcomed by new people in the TCG world that are fun and easy to learn, and just a little addictive!

“Fantastical and Magical” is an amethyst action/song card with an ink cost of 9, and players can’t imagine it. This particular song card can be pop onto the board by any number of players the player is singing the song together (up to a total cost of 9 or more). The illustration and design for this card was done by British-based designer Natalia Trikowska. Natalia Trichouska was done by the artists behind the “Magical Maid” cards in the Ursula return set of Lorcana, and famous IP illustrations and designs such as Clash of Clans, Bloasters, The Legend of Lantella, and the League of Legends.
If you’re a veteran of Lolcana, you may notice similarities between this card and the recent Archazia’s Island Card, “This Is My Family.” Apart from this time, this latest card appears to take lore and card drawing to a whole new level. This allows players to keep up with some necessary lore. Nevertheless, “Fantastic and Magical” might be one of the sleazy cards to watch both in friendly games with family and in competitive matches on the release date of local game stores!
Disney’s Rocana “Jafar’s Reign” will be available anywhere before its release on May 30, 2025 and June 6, 2025.
