After the price of the PlayStation Plus rose in Australia last week, PlayStation announced today that PS5 consoles will rise in certain markets, including Australia, and disk drives will suffer a price drop.
The PS5 Digital Edition now costs between $679.95 and $749.95. The PS5 Disc Edition will increase from $799.95 to $829.95. The price of PS5 disk drives is reduced. It is currently down from $159.95 to $124.95.

On the PlayStation blog, Isabelle Tomatis, VP of Global Marketing, said: “Depending on the back of a challenging economic environment, including high inflation and fluctuating exchange rates, SIE has made the tough decision to raise the recommended retail price (RRP) for PlayStation 5 consoles in some markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
These new prices are active today, so even if you need a console, you can still get them at a cheaper price from Amazon below.
