Paramount+ has released a date-announcement teaser trailer for The Madison, Taylor Sheridan’s latest series and a clear pivot to more intimate territory. This short preview, anchored by Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, offers a glimpse into the emotional stakes ahead of the show’s March 14 premiere. Watch the teaser above and read what we know so far.
Grief brings the Clyburn family west.
The teaser begins with Pfeiffer’s Stacey Clyburn, already hollowed out by loss. “My center, my soul is gone,” she says, setting the emotional starting point for a Sheridan show that seems more focused on what happens after devastation than violent power struggles. The trailer also quietly reveals another major name in the cast. Stacey relays the line to New York City-based therapist Phil Yorn, played by Will Arnett, who replies, “Just surrender and you’ll be fine.”
Healing, at least in theory, means leaving Manhattan behind. The Clyburn family relocates to the Madison River Valley in central Montana, a move that has immediate cultural and emotional implications.
Marriage at the Center of Loss
Russell appears as Preston Clyburn, Stacey’s husband, who is implied to be the central figure in the trauma that reshaped the family. The teaser intentionally leaves details vague, suggesting an emotionally heavy journey rather than a mystery-driven one.
Described as Sheridan’s most personal work to date, the series unfolds across Montana and Manhattan, using geography as a mirror for grief, distance, and connection. The film is structured as a love story filtered through a family drama that examines how people try to rebuild when their foundations have already crumbled.
Cast, creative, release date
In addition to Pfeiffer, Russell, and Arnett, the ensemble includes Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Patrick J. Adams, Amir Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Daniel Vasinova, and Matthew Fox. The series is also a reunion of sorts for Pfeiffer and Russell, who co-starred with Mel Gibson in the 1988 romantic crime thriller Tequila Sunrise.
Produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios and Bossk Ranch Productions, Madison is executive produced by Sheridan, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Voros, Michael Friedman, Pfeiffer, Russell and Keith Cox, and directed by Voros.
The six-episode first season premiered on March 14 on Paramount+, and the second season is already complete.
