The official trailer for the drama has arrived, giving us our first proper taste of A24’s unnerving romantic drama starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. Watch the trailer above and read on to find out about love, confession, and the one question that threatens to quietly detonate everything.
Wedding week questions that will change everything
At first, the trailer plays as a seemingly familiar story. Zendaya plays Emma Harwood, who is newly engaged to Charlie Thompson, played by Robert Pattinson, and the tensions of wedding week smolder beneath the surface. The couple then engages in a seemingly innocuous conversation with their friends, where they all sit around the table and admit they did the worst thing they’ve ever done. The laughter continued… until Emma got her answer.
So what did she do? The trailer keeps that a well-kept secret. What it shows is the results. Charlie is visibly shaken by the stunned reaction and the fact that he was clearly unprepared. Intimacy becomes unstable and the tone changes rapidly as the week becomes much more troublesome than cold feet.
“You have to stop thinking about it,” Emma tells Charlie. “I can’t tell you to stop thinking,” he replies. She presses, “So you’re thinking about that.” “Oh, by the way, I’m thinking about it right now.”
Cast, director, and team
Joining Zendaya and Pattinson in this interesting-looking film are Mahmoud Ati, Alana Haim, Hailey Gates, and Zoe Winters.
The film is directed and written by Christopher Borli, who previously directed the 2023 Nicolas Cage film Dream Scenario, and tells the story of a man whose life changes when everyone starts seeing him in their dreams. Producers include Hereditary and Midsommar director Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen, and Tyler Camperone.
Cinematographer Arseni Khachaturan (Bones and All), composer Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Steve Jobs), and editor Joshua Raymond Lee (Ripley, We Own This City) are also among the creators.
