As revealed by game director Hugo Martin on PlayStation-Exclusive Trailer, Doom: Doom: The Dark Ages appears to have a realm of space.
If you’re a Doom Slayer of this era and age, you might be worried about why the forces of Hell team up with the terror of Eldrich in the universe’s realm, but we’re assuming that these reasons will become clear in the final game. Anyway, the area still looks quite hellish in its architecture and population, but exchanging the purple red colour gives off a distinct Lovecraft vibe.
The five-minute trailer also shows off the Reaver Shot, a gun that focuses on a demon-filled retractable cannonball fired with devastating impact. It’s like a gun-shaped energy-driven mace.
Doom: The Dark Ages will be released on PC, Xbox Series X/s and PlayStation 5 on May 13, 2025. You can pre-order it for $109 on Amazon.
