Tom Holland teased in an interview on Good Morning America that he said yes to starring in Christopher Nolan’s next film without knowing anything about the project. Variety confirmed earlier this month that Holland will headline Nolan’s new film alongside Matt Damon. This is the sequel to the Oscar-winning director’s “Oppenheimer”.
“All I can say is I’m incredibly excited,” Holland said of Nolan’s performance. “Of course it’s an honor, but to be honest, it’s the only thing I know.”
When asked by the Good Morning America host if he would have said yes to “Unseen” if Nolan were the director, Nolan replied, “100 percent, without a doubt.”
“When that opportunity came up, it was the call of a lifetime,” Holland added. “I remember getting the call about Spider-Man 10 years ago, which is amazing to me. I’m very proud and I’m really, really excited.”
Director Nolan is writing and directing the new film, which Universal Pictures plans to release in theaters on July 17, 2026. The untitled new film is scheduled to begin filming in early 2025. Director Holland recently announced the production of his fourth film, “Spider.” -Man’s film is scheduled to shoot in summer 2025, meaning next year will be the biggest year of the actor’s career to date.
Holland last appeared on screen in 2022’s Uncharted. He pivoted to television with the 2023 Apple TV+ limited series “The Crowded Room,” and earlier this year made his stage debut in “Romeo & Juliet,” which ran for 12 weeks in the West End.
