An official trailer has arrived for the carpenter’s son. Nicholas Cage won the Bible as Joseph in a supernatural showdown in which his family was fought against the demons. Check out the trailer above and read the essentials.
Roman Egypt, one small settlement, and a family trying to bow their heads: Joseph (Cage), Mary (FKA Twigus, recently seen in 2024), and her teenage son, Jesus (Noah Jupe, quiet place). The strange child (Isla Johnston, invasion) begins to whisper in the boy’s ears and pulls him to something forbidden. “Who are you?” Jesus asks. Response: “You know who I am.” As the official outline states, “The real name of the child: Satan.”
The trailer is haunted by what feels like an inevitable calling as a father leaning on the image of dawn and Stark Vision – a more harsh horror tone, doing everything he can to protect his son. “He has a power that he cannot understand,” Joseph says in the trailer. “The power I cannot contain.”
Writer-director Lotfy Nathan creates the distinctive character of his second story after the 2022 film Harka after 2022 – drawing his Coptotic Christian background and stages this as a spiritual war. Cage, whose recent credits include long legs and surfers, also serves as producers, continuing to make unpredictable choices. This looks bold and weird, and is all-in on that premise.
The carpenter’s son will open at the US cinema on November 14th.
