Marvel as we know it today actually began in the early 1960s, and it wasn’t until the mid-2000s that Marvel Studios came into existence and began adapting comic books into films. Even though the Marvel Cinematic Universe is such a huge part of the Hollywood landscape, there are still some Marvel franchises that were created outside of Marvel. While it’s true that many of the best Marvel movies were produced by the company itself, a significant number of very good films (including some of the most important and influential films of the last 25 years) It was provided by another Hollywood studio that had licensed the rights to.
