I’m a big fan of good horror movies, and I’m the type of person who can only watch them when the audience is screaming and holding the hand of the person next to me.
But in recent years, many have promised to make it happen, but never do. It’s all CGI, scary stories, and eye-rolling jump scares.
When I heard that Terrifier was coming back for a third installment, I knew it would live up to its name.
The film saw even America’s most seasoned horror movie buffs leave early to vomit or pass out, with theaters handing out vomit bags before screenings.
Now that I look at it, I understand why.

It’s already a big hit overseas. According to Variety, despite being an independent, low-budget film, Terrifire 3 grossed a whopping $18.3 million in its opening weekend.
Like the first two, this film is infamous for being one of the most truly gruesome watches you’ll ever see. The opening scene alone is shocking, as Art, dressed as Santa, invades a family’s home on Christmas Eve.

“What the hell is this movie?” my friend, who had never seen or heard of the first two, whispered to me after a few seconds.
Art’s brutality towards those who stood in his way elicited a sea of groans and gasps from the audience, who shifted uncomfortably in their seats.
As time passed, my symptoms got worse and worse. People, myself included, were huddled in our seats, wondering how in the world we had come to experience such a nightmare. .

Despite other reviews, I noticed that there were a lot of people nearby, but no one left the packed theater.
