Ted Lasso fans are delighted! Apple TV+ officially announces that Ted Lasso will be returning for season 4, giving it a break from ongoing speculation about the future of its beloved soccer coach. After months of Will whispers, Jason Sudeikis is back on board to reprise his Emmy-winning role as the constant optimal Ted Lasso.
The announcement will see the creative team behind the reunion of multiple award-winning comedy, including co-creators Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly and Bill Lawrence. There is also a noteworthy addition this time. Emmy Award winner Jack Burdit (30 Rock, Modern Family) has joined as executive producer under a new deal with Apple.
Speaking about what fans can expect in the next chapter of AFC Richmond, Sudeikis teased a change in the team’s approach. “We all live in a world where so many factors condition us to “see before we jump,” so in season 4, the people of AFC Richmond learn to jump before discovering where they are where they land. ”
Matt Cherniss, Head of Programming at Apple TV+, was excited. “Ted Lasso is nothing but a juggernaut. He has inspired passionate fanbase around the world, bringing endless joy and laughter while spreading kindness, compassion and unwavering beliefs,” he said. “Everyone at Apple is thrilled to continue their collaboration with Jason and the incredible creative mindset behind this show.”
The news shows the official continuation since 2023, after fans last got brave. Season 3 was considered to be the last. Even co-creator Bill Lawrence played Koi last year, hinting that a fourth season could be possible once Sudeikis was ready to return.
It appears he was. And while Apple TV+ has yet to confirm the return cast, Warner Bros. TV has already featured options for key stars Hannah Waddin Dingham, Brett Goldstein and Jeremy Swift. Meanwhile, Nick Mohammed, who plays Nate Shelley, recently suggested that filming a new season is the reason behind his stand-up tour schedule.
There’s nothing yet when Season 4 hits Apple TV+, but the creative team is back and Richmond is ready to jump, but the game is officially on.
