Hannah Carol Chapman, creator and writer of Heartbreak High, shares her experience as a representative of the Talent USA: New York program.
Screen Australia’s Talent USA: New York program, held in New York during the week of the Australian International Screen Forum, supports the participation of emerging screen professionals with the aim of forging important partnerships with global creatives.
Hannah Carroll Chapman is one of the Class of 2024 participants in the program, and aside from meeting comedy legend Steve Martin, the opportunity to network and learn more about the American film industry is tremendous. It was very valuable. One of her key objectives was to meet with agents and managers in the United States, and the results were very positive.
“I went through the process with an American manager and agent, which was great,” Carol Chapman reveals. “I also wanted to consider whether it would be appropriate to propose some of my projects in the United States, such as what could be realized here with American support.”
In this video interview, Carol Chapman talks about the benefits of the program, the many U.S. executives who spoke at the forum, and shares her advice for those who want to apply to the program in the future.
