When Hawkins falls into chaos, the final mission begins.
The new season, set in the fall of 1987, will be featured in the remains left behind after Hawkins is torn. As the rift divides the town and the government closes under military quarantine, the gangs still face the darkest challenge: find and kill Vekna.
The official summary points out that Vekna is “disappearing – his whereabouts and plans are unknown” and forced his reunion friends to move forward without knowing what to expect. When the 11 people are hidden again, the familiar anxiety calms down. The anniversary of Will’s Lost of is approaching, and with this, it has increased the sense that this nightmare is over.
In the trailer’s standout moment, Dustin and his crew navigate a deadly bunker that becomes quiet like a protest dog stem, Eddie Manson’s tainted gravestone, and a massive upside down portal that lingers like an apocalyptic wound. In one blink of an eye it shows a Demogorgon jumping through the trees like a grotesque action hero.
Two important audio lines stand out. Jonathan tells Nancy, “After what we’ve experienced. This…it brings us together. Forever.” And Hopper (David Harbor) gives Eleven (Milly Bobby Brown) an inevitable appeal to his arm.
