Last month, Sony Pictures Virtual Reality and XR Games announced Starship Troopers: Continuum, a VR co-op shooter game unique to the film series. The studio has now announced that it is scheduled for release in November.
Quest 2 and 3 were previously scheduled to be released on October 17th and PSVR 2 on October 31st, but it looks like Starship Troopers: Continuum still needs time in the oven.
The studio announced via XPost that the game will be released on November 14th for Quest and November 25th for PSVR 2, citing the need for “additional playtesting, polishing, and (bug) fixes.”

Starship Troopers: Continuum will be released on Meta Quest on November 14, 2024 and on PlayStation VR2 on November 25, 2024.
This is to give us more time for additional playtesting, polishing, and modification to ensure the best experience on Meta Quest and PlayStation VR2.
We thank our community for their patience and support and look forward to seeing you on the battlefield in November.
Set 25 years after the Battle of Klendathu, in which the film’s protagonist Johnny Rico first battles the giant arachnid inhabitants, this online co-op shooter lets you and up to two other players equip themselves with advanced psychic powers. You can become an experimental soldier and fight against Krendatoo. bug.
Considering that the game’s developer, XR Games, just released Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded (2024) on Quest last month, and it was widely criticized for both its poor visual quality and game-breaking bugs. It’s no wonder Sony doesn’t want to release another game. It’s had some serious misfires with its own IP, but it’s been enjoying a bit of a resurgence as of late.
This comes amidst the launch of the franchise’s latest flatscreen online shooter, Starship Troopers: Extermination (2024), released on October 10th on PC, PS5, and Xbox X|S. On Steam, the game received an overall user rating of “Very Positive”, compiled from over 26,000 user reviews.
