Starfleet Academy cadets have a long future ahead of them. Paramount+ has renewed the upcoming series for a second season. Tatiana Maslany also joined the cast of the series.
Holly Hunter, Paul Giamatti, Keris Brooks, Vera Shepherd, George Hawkins, Karim Diane, and Zoe Steiner star on Paramount+ and follow a new group of cadets as they enter the academy.
Fans of the series will also note that Tig Notaro, Oded Fehr, Mary Wiseman, and Robert Picard are returning to the series. Notaro and Picardo will appear as series regulars, with Fehr and Wiseman making guest appearances.

Produced by CBS Studios, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy follows the adventures of a new class of Starfleet cadets as they grow up in one of the galaxy’s most legendary locations. The series introduces viewers to this group of young cadets who band together to pursue a common dream of hope and optimism. Under the harsh gaze of their instructors, they discover what it takes to become a Starfleet officer while navigating budding friendships, explosive rivalries, first loves, and new enemies that threaten the Academy and the Federation itself. The premiere date of the new series will be announced at a later date.
