When will Stalker 2 be released? The long-awaited sequel was first announced during Xbox and Bethesda Games’ E3 2021 showcase, and developer GSC Game World also released a trailer packed with gameplay and story details . The official title of the game is “Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl”, following “Shadow of Chernobyl” and “Call of Pripyat”.

Stalker 2 is an RPG game set in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, where monsters run rampant and humans can be both enemies and allies. You must find a way to survive the dangers that lurk in this area while solving mysteries. Stalker 2’s potential looks huge, and early gameplay footage suggests it could be one of the best PC games when it’s finally released.

Stalker 2 release date

STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl release date is Wednesday, November 20, 2024. This latest release date comes after further delays from developer GSC Game World.

This is the third delay for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl announced via Really, Again? A trailer aired with the press release explains that the studio needs additional time to “fix ‘unforeseen anomalies’ (or simply ‘bugs’).”

Game Director Yevhen Grigorovich thanked fans for their patience regarding the delay. “Thank you as always for your continued support and understanding. It means so much to us,” he says. “Like you, we’re eager to finally release the game and let you experience it for yourself.”

Stalker 2 was originally scheduled for release on December 8, 2022, but was delayed due to polishing and testing needed to “meet expectations.” Development was significantly interrupted due to the Russia-Ukraine war, and the release period was postponed to the first quarter of 2024. GSC Game World then decided to change the release date to September 5, 2024 to address a “technical defect.” However, it looks like this long-awaited sequel will need a little more time.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be released on PC via Steam, Game Pass, and Epic Games Store. A console exclusivity deal has also been signed and it will also be coming to Xbox Series X|S.

stalker 2 game pass

Stalker 2 will be released on Game Pass day one. This means anyone with an active subscription to the service will be able to play the open-world game as soon as it’s released.

Players who want to pre-order outright can purchase Stalker 2 Ultimate Edition. This edition received a price increase due to the studio’s relocation during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, “to keep quality at the desired level during these uncertain times.”

stalker 2 trailer

The E3 2021 trailer features the first official gameplay of Stalker 2, including a cameo from the series creator. The footage shows a cutscene of survivors sitting around a campfire, a place of respite from a relentlessly dangerous world. Campfire scenes are spliced with gameplay such as a gunfight at a nuclear power plant. Combat is likely to be tough again, as there are many factions to befriend and defeat, with “different enemies following different tactics trying to outwit you.”

We also get a first look at areas infested with bloodsuckers and anomalies, where you can chuck bolts forward to test deadly rifts. The trailer shows a combination of horror, survival, and action. Little is known about the story, but the expanded open world adds survival mechanics, life simulation systems, and advanced AI. Mod support will also be available to give creative players more freedom.

Stalker 2’s “Bolts and Bullets” trailer also includes a voiceover that teases the protagonist’s plight. “I was attacked at work. I got hit in the head and when I woke up I was wearing nothing but my birthday suit.” What follows is a story of supernatural happenings, a mad dog, and a man in the flesh. It’s a montage of the worst mornings imaginable, consisting of mutants.

Other trailers for Stalker 2 include the announcement of Stalker 2’s partnership with the Non Stop energy drink brand, which is depicted in-game as a brief interlude in which the protagonist drinks a can to regain focus. The video description declares that “an experienced stalker has acquired an ace just like 16 years ago,” and this leads to the use of the Nonstop brand in “Shadow of Chernobyl” within certain regions. is mentioned.

The trailer for Strider confirms that the former Monolith Stalker canonically survived the events of The Call of Pripyat and will make a welcome return in the sequel. We also got a preview of Stalker 2’s industrial synth battle music. There was a conviction: “We already know what will happen in the next few minutes, so it’s time to prepare and endure.”

Finally, Stalker 2 received a new gameplay trailer at Summer Game Fest 2024. It includes several battle sequences that show off various weapons. We also get a glimpse of the Stalker series’ first black NPC, and it’s good to know that the developers are open to feedback after all this time. The Stalker 2 Summer Game Fest preview describes the game as “beautiful and deadly at the same time.”

stalker 2 gameplay

Stalker 2 is set in a dangerous exclusion zone plagued by mutant creatures, warring factions, and bizarre anomalies. Stalker 2 revisits some of the same areas and locations as the first game. This is an open world game where you play as a lone stalker and choose your path to define a branching storyline with several different endings. Upgraded detectors allow you to uncover artifacts and secrets in dangerous locations guarded by legendary mutants (including a resurrected Bloodsucker) with different subtypes with unpredictable behavior. Masu.

Game director Evgeny Grigorovich revealed Stalker 2’s approach to realism combines the “fun” elements of a first-person shooter with an “economy mode where every bullet counts.” Customize your Stalker 2 weapon loadout with over 30 different gun types and mods. Stalker prides itself on realism in a thankfully unrealistic and frightening world, so expect its weapons to be close to their real-world counterparts, with apocalyptic exceptions.

PCGamesN had a chance to experience the FPS game up close at the Stalker 2 Gamescom preview. In our experience, Stalker 2 blends the difficulty of Dark Souls with the mechanical heft of Amnesia The Bunker, resulting in heart-pounding combat where every choice counts. Although we didn’t encounter any cats in Stalker 2, the preview certainly left an unforgettable impression.
