Netflix has released the official trailer for Squid Game Season 3, offering a terrifying glimpse into what will come when the hit Korean series returns later this month. The new season will recover shortly after the events of Season 2. And things are covered in blood. Look up.
Announced at Netflix’s Tudum 2025: The Live event, the trailer returns a cruel new game, threats, teases a deeply broken Gi hun (Lee Jung-Jae), shaking from the collapse of his rebellion. Series creator Hwang Dong Hyuk explained to Netflix site Tudum that this closure season will be “focusing on what Gi-Hun can do and after his efforts have failed.”
Fans say, “He loses everything and after seeing all his efforts go to waste, he is completely despaired. The story then goes in an interesting direction, questioning whether Gi-Hun can overcome his shame and prove the value of humanity like conscience and kindness.”
The competition is more deadly than ever, with Gi-Hun facing a horrifying new challenge, not just malicious players and masked guards. Yes, Young Hee – a frightening doll of red lights, green lights – comes back and she’s not the only trick in the store.
Meanwhile, the line between Gi-Hun and the mysterious frontman (Lee Byung-Hun) continues to be blurry. At an impressive moment from the trailer, we hear the frontman and see him take off his black mask.
Byung-Hun teased the season’s build towards a major climax. “In Season 2, the dramatic story centered around a variety of characters and set the stage for Season 3,” he said. “These stories reach their climax and culminate in a dramatic explosion of strength,” he added that viewers “will not be disappointed.”
The final showdown begins on June 27th, when Squid Game Season 3 premiered globally on Netflix.
