Earlier this fall, “Shang-Chi” director Destin Daniel Cretton entered into negotiations to direct “Spider-Man 4,” and later signed deals with Sony and Marvel. Now, the release date for Tom Holland’s next MCU Spider-Man has been set for 2026, about five years after the theatrical release of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Spider-Man 4, which does not yet have an official title, is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 24, 2026. This is just over two months away from the release of Avengers: Doomsday, which opens on May 1, 2026. Marvel and Sony have yet to confirm whether Holland will appear in both films, but it seems like a safe bet. The second Dutch Spider-Man movie, “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” was also released in 2019, following “Avengers: Endgame.”
It’s unclear who will appear in Spider-Man 4, as Holland is currently the only cast member confirmed to be returning. Holland recently revealed that he and his partner and Spider-Man co-star Zendaya read the script for the new movie. It seems likely that she will reprise her role as MJ, despite having Peter Parker’s memories erased in No Way Home.
“I read[the script for Spider-Man 4]three weeks ago and it really hit home with me,” Holland said. “Zendaya and I would sit down and read the book together, and sometimes we’d jump up and down in our living room and say, ‘This is a real movie that deserves the respect of the fans.’ But before we can really move forward with that, we need to understand There are some things.”
Holland then appeared on The Tonight Show earlier this week and confirmed that Spider-Man 4 will begin filming in the UK in mid-2025.
