Special Edition Icon Blue DualSense controller is great but won’t be coming to Australia

PlayStation announced this week the special edition Icon Blue DualSense controller, which features a unique layered blue hue and a glossy pattern of PlayStation shapes on the touchpad.

This is a rare special edition controller commemorating PlayStation (nothing to do with the game), but unfortunately at this stage it’s only scheduled to be released later this month in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Chile. It’s expected to be released in Australia at a later date, as it’s expected to be released in October in these territories.

The controller is explained as follows.

“From the moment your console powers on and your DualSense controller lights up, its signature blue glow signals the beginning of something special. It’s the spark that draws you into a new world and immersive gameplay. Inspired by PlayStation’s iconic blue hue, this design captures feelings of anticipation and surprise every time you pick up the controller. As a nod to our origins, we’ve added katakana characters to the back that spell our name in Japanese style. Pure Ittion.
