Joanna Beveridge delves into the world of online shipping in her new series ‘Shippers’.
A shipper, taken from the word “relationship”, is a fan of a romantic relationship between characters in a movie or series, or someone who wants a particular character to be together and share their wishes online.
In the case of Joanna Beveridge, the consignor has been featured in mainstream media, often portrayed as a man.
“The reason I wanted to talk about shipping is because I’ve seen so many really great fans on screen,” Beveridge explains. “Like Seth Cohen, the guys from The Big Bang Theory, Peter Parker…but I haven’t really seen a lot of women that I can relate to.”
In this behind-the-scenes video, Beveridge talks about his approach to visually depicting online experiences through graphics and in-camera technology, and his battle with imposter syndrome.
Shippers is available to stream on YouTube.
