The official trailer for Sam Raimi’s (Spider-Man, The Evil Dead, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) darkly comical survival thriller Send Help has been released. The story follows Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien as they switch power on a deserted island. Watch the trailer above and read the gist.
set up
Linda Riddle (McAdams) is an underrated office worker who crash lands with her terrible boss, Bradley Preston (O’Brien). There are 2 survivors, 1 island, and zero HR. First, there are bandages and an uneasy truce. If that happens, the balance of power will tilt. Linda has practical skills, Bradley has a shattered ego, and the trailer leans into a battle of wills where mercy is…negotiable.
Raimi atmosphere
Expect a mean and funny pressure cooker rather than a straight survival story. Changing leverage, cruel irony, and some Raimi thrive when the mood (and tide) changes. Raimi said: “I’ve always loved stories where interesting, dynamic characters are pushed to extremes. In our stories, shifts in power create unexpected developments and suspenseful escalating situations.”
cast & staff
In addition to McAdams and O’Brien, the cast includes Edir Ismail, Dennis Haysbert, Xavier Samuel, Chris Pang, Taneth Waraknukro, and Emma Raimi.
Raimi is producing along with Zainab Azizi. The script was written by Damien Shannon and Mark Swift (Friday the 13th, Baywatch, Freddy vs. Jason). The original score is by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Big Fish). The cinematographer is Bill Pope (The Matrix, Spider-Man 2, Last Night in Soho).
Send Help will be released in Australian cinemas on January 29, 2026 and in US cinemas on January 30.
