The Australian state of Queensland will be home to the MonsterVerse as production begins on Season 2 of Legendary Entertainment’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.
The series, secured by Screen Queensland through the Queensland Government’s Production Attraction Strategy, will generate more than $115 million for the Queensland economy, making it the largest series ever filmed in the Sunshine State. It will be.

“Season 2 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will provide jobs for approximately 1,000 local cast and crew members, from accommodations, medical services and catering to security, transportation and wardrobe supplies. It will be a big boost for small and medium-sized enterprises that provide all sorts of products.
“As the largest television series to be filmed in Queensland, this deal demonstrates the ability of our strategy to secure a pipeline of productions that will drive the economy and jobs.”

The upcoming season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will be executive produced by Chris Black and Safehouse Pictures’ Joby Harrold and Tori Tunnell. Matt Shakman, Andy Colville and Jen Roskind will also serve as executive producers. Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita will serve as executive producers on behalf of Toho Corporation, the owner of the Godzilla character. Toho has licensed the rights to Legendary for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters as a natural result of its long-term relationship with the film franchise.
