Screen Australia has appointed Louise Gough as its new director of narrative content.

Mr Goff was previously head of development at Screen Australia from 2021 to 2023. Most recently, he served as executive producer of Samantha Strauss’s The Scab Picker, a joint venture with Seesaw Films.

With a 30-year career spanning broadcasting, production, funding bodies and theater environments, she brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Her dedication to nurturing talent and guiding stories from development to market and audience is well known in the industry.

Screen Australia Chief Executive Officer Deirdre Brennan said: “Louise’s wealth of experience and passion for Australian storytelling in all its forms makes her an invaluable addition to our team. Her leadership truly reflects and connects us all. It will help drive Screen Australia’s commitment to growing content.”

Louise Goff said: “I’m thrilled to be rejoining Screen Australia in this new role. I’m dedicated to Australian stories across all platforms and will work with creators, producers, marketplace partners, sector leaders and organizations, and agencies. I can’t wait to work with my colleagues and the staff at Screen Australia to grow Australian storytelling content to national and international audiences.”

Mr Goff will report directly to Grainne Brunsdon, Chief Operating Officer. Scheduled to start on September 30, 2024.
