Screen Australia content director Grainne Brunsdon will replace Michael Brealey as the agency’s chief operating officer next month.
The appointment comes two years after Mr Brunsdon joined Screen Australia from Screen NSW, where he had held the top job since 2019.
Previously, Ms Brunsdon was Director of Arts Investment, Engagement and Development at Create NSW, where she helped introduce the 50:50 by 2020 initiative to further increase gender equality in the screen industry and We sought to increase the representation of practitioners. Ms Brunsdon said she was excited to be joining Screen Australia’s new chapter.

Mr Brealey’s departure late last year after five years in the role was one of several staff changes at Screen Australia over the summer, with the station taking on new CEO Deirdre Brennan and head of documentary Richard Huddleston.
