Screen Australia is pleased to announce that it has secured over $5.2 million in funding for 18 enterprise talent opportunities and 18 enterprise business proposals.
Enterprise Business Winners Djali House and Kapwa
The Enterprise Business program supports screen businesses to make a difference, grow their businesses and build a path to sustainability. Winners include Ten4 Media, a Northern Territory-based company specializing in observational documentaries that capture unique stories and landscapes. Fremantle company Artemis Media is known for producing influential fact-based series such as ‘Maggie Beer’s Big Mission’ and ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ Torres Strait Islander Aboriginal Company Lone Star is dedicated to bringing scripted projects to audiences around the world. Regional NSW’s Magpie Pictures produces the acclaimed SBS series Swift Street, with a focus on authentic storytelling.
The Enterprise People stream creates career-defining development opportunities and supports placements for practitioners to advance their careers on screen. Among the winners is 07 year creator Casey Anning, who will spend six months working at US company Paper Planes. Joshua Yassery, 2023 Fresh Blood Recipient, will begin a 12-month stint at Studio Giray, which specializes in Indigenous animation. and Ruby Davis, who recently signed a 12-month deal with Arenamedia to work on Adam Elliott’s upcoming feature Memoir of a Snail.
Screen Australia’s Indigenous division has put 100 in the program supporting four Indigenous businesses, including Djali House, Lone Star Company, No Coincidence Media and Pandamonium Films, and three practitioners, including Travis Akbar, Isaac Cohen Lindsay and Joshua Yasserie. I invested a million dollars.
Since its inception in 2009, Screen Australia’s Enterprise Program has supported more than 133 screen companies and 136 individual creators, with more than $50 million invested in the program.
